Land of the Standing Stones

In celebration of the landscape, music and cultural traditions of the north east, Aberdeenshire Council has commissioned a new work from composer and renowned fiddle payer Paul Anderson as a musical contribution to the Homecoming 2009 celebrations. The work, Land of the Standing Stones, will be performed in a St Andrew's Night concert, along with arrangements of the tune in a variety of musical genres by composers James Clapperton, John Hearne, Claire Singer, Roger Williams, Justin Brook, Robert Aitken and Jonny Hardie. There will also be a performance of a new work by Bill Thompson.
